After designing a couple of album covers for my university projects I decided to work on a couple of new projects that I had the ideas for but never got around to making. I wanted to try making music in a different style. I decided to create a new catchy stage name as I found that “R-K_9” was too hard to find. so I changed my name to “Isaac Blue”, which I felt had a nice ring to it. My Auntie has a framed picture of this blue marble effect that I really liked as it reminded me of summertime. This is what inspired this album cover and the overall idea for the album.

I then began working on this album “WAVES”. The music on this album was created to have fun, chill, and summertime vibes. I thought more on the artists that I listen to and what is inspiring about their style, which ended up inspiring the music for this album. The artists that inspired this album include Mac Miller, Bruno Mars, Daniel Caesar, Miguel, Childish Gambino, and Leon Thomas, just to name a few. This album was one of three that was planned to release one week after the other.
